Kota Ambon and its Sights
Siwa Lima is one of the museum which is a must see when you travel to Kota Ambon. It features the regional and colonial artefacts. First you will see two buildings with a snaking road between them. Capture and be inspired by the breathtaking view of Ambon on the upper rear terrrace. You can also visit the little Hindu Temple after going through the stairway. Ambon was colonized but when the Dutch drove out the Portuguese, it had been under the Dutch control til 1945. The two classes of the population were orang burger and orang negri. The difference is one group is citizen and the other group villagers. Citizen enjoys privileges. Of course, there were Arabs, Chinese, Dutch other than some Portuguese settlers. About the Monument of Pattimura, Lapangan Merdeka, Pattimura was a soldier and also the national hero of Indonesia. He was hanged by the Dutch forces in 1817 in his thirties. He led an armed rebellion and fought off Dutch reinforcements. However, he was betrayed by the King of Booi Pati Akoon. He was commemorated at the Pattimura Airport, and on 15th May, the people celebrated this day as ”Pattimura Day”. Besides, you can see him being featured on the 1000 rupiah bill of the 2000 series of the Indonesia currency. And if you take ride up to the delightful Panorama Cafe, you can view the Martha Christina Tiahahu Statue.

Monument of Pattimura, Lapangan Merdeka, Monument of Christina Martha Tiahahu, Karang Panjang, Ambon Plaza, Galala-Poka Ferry crossing, Batu Merah, Beautiful Ambon Bay at sunset, Museum Siwalima at Batu Capeu, Pukul Sapu Dance at Mamala and Morela are the various places to see.
Europeans and Chinese also previously know it as Spice Islands, it is an archipelago and part of the Maritime Southeast Asia region. Other than rainforests, there are the famous spices like mace, nutmeg and cloves. Rice and sago are the vegetation amongst the active volcanoes and wet climate.
Aketajawe-Lolobata National Park
This is a national park on Halmahera, the biggest island in the North Maluku province of Indonesia where 23 endemic bird species are protected. If you like beaches, there are the Natsepa beach, Santai beach and Pintu Kota beach to choose from. You can get to the city of Ambon by a sedan type of vehicle in one hour, or motorcycles and even public transport. Usually this place is made popular amongst people who are into prewedding, modeling and fashion photography.
